Tall Ships Races 2024 in Tallinn awaits hundreds of volunteers

From July 11-14, 2024, Tallinn is hosting Europe’s largest sail training ship regatta, the Tall Ships Races, bringing nearly 50 large sailing ships to three of the city's harbors. In preparation for this major summer event, the city invites applications for volunteer positions at the Tall Ships Races.

City centre reopens: traffic restored on Gonsiori Street

On Wednesday, December 6, the segment of Gonsiori Street between Reimani and Laikmaa streets will reopen to city centre-bound vehicle traffic, restoring routes to Estonia Boulevard. This section had been closed since April due to the construction of the Old City Harbour tramway. The reopening of this segment, along with the earlier opening of major nearby intersections, significantly improves traffic in the city centre.

Nearly seven times more large waste brought during campaign week

During this year's final free large waste disposal week from November 20-26, Tallinn's waste treatment plants received seven times more large waste than in a typical week of November. Throughout the year, residents brought a total of 5,592.17 cubic meters of waste to the waste treatment plants, equivalent to approximately 70 truckloads of large waste.

Tallinn prepares for the European Capital of Sport year in 2025

Tallinn is gearing up for major investments in sports ahead of its designation as the European Capital of Sport in 2025. According to the city’s budget proposal for the next year, the largest investment in sports will be allocated to the renovation of Kadriorg Stadium, along with initiatives to expand exercise and sports facilities throughout the city.
