Tallinn launches architectural competition for Manufaktuuri quarter kindergarten

The City of Tallinn is organizing an architectural competition to find a comprehensive solution for a new kindergarten planned for the Manufaktuuri quarter in Põhja-Tallinn, drawing from modern educational environment principles while fitting well into the historical context of the area. Submissions for the competition are accepted until June 27, 2024.

Tallinn prepares for the establishment of the Kopli volunteer fire brigade

The City of Tallinn, in collaboration with partners, aims to establish a non-profit organization that will coordinate the activities of the Kopli volunteer fire brigade. The goal is to support the fulfillment of duties assigned to the fire department in the city, especially in Põhja-Tallinn. If the City Council supports the plan, the volunteer fire brigade will begin operations as early as April.

Tallinn offers free legal advice consultations

This year, Tallinn is providing residents with free legal advice during 17 consultation days scheduled across all districts. In February, consultation days are on the 22nd, from 2 pm to 6 pm at the Nõmme District Government and on the 29th, from 9 am to 2 pm at the Haabersti District Government.

Tallinn to build new tramways on Liivalaia Street and to Pelguranna

Tallinn is planning to construct new tramways on Liivalaia Street and along the Pollinator Highway (Putukaväil) leading to Pelguranna. This week, the City Government sent a proposal to the Ministry of Climate for European Union funding to expand the city's tram network. The plan involves adding three kilometers of new tracks.

Renovated Vana-Kalamaja Street to be reopened

The reconstruction works on Vana-Kalamaja Street in Põhja-Tallinn are approaching completion. The project resulted in a high-quality urban space that ensures safe and comfortable travel for people, with a focus on promoting walking and cycling. The renovated street will be opened during a street festival, which takes place from 1-3 September. The regular route of bus line number 3 will resume on 1 September and the street will reopen to car traffic on the evening of 3 September.
