Tallinn sets up UNESCO Music City Council

Tallinn City Government has assembled the UNESCO Music City Council, which will implement the Tallinn Music Strategy 2022-2025. The Council will comprise two members of the City Government and ten people from influential music organisations. Its work will be organised by the Tallinn Culture and Sports Department.

Salaries increased for nearly 7000 city employees by supplementary budget

The Tallinn City Government sent a supplementary budget to the City Council, which will increase the salaries of people working in the city's institutions by seven per cent from 1 March. Kindergarten and hobby school teachers will receive a 7.4% pay rise, while kindergarten assistant teachers will get a 13.3% pay rise.

Tallinn awarded the first music grants of the year

Tallinn is a UNESCO City of Music from October 2021, and in this context the city has opened a call for applications to support music events taking place in Tallinn. In the first music grant round of the year, Tallinn awarded a total of €53,584 to 11 music projects.

Tallinn in search for young mentors

Tallinn is inviting young people to join the Future Mentors programme to help shape a sustainable future for Tallinn. One of the young mentors will also have the opportunity to be part of Tallinn's delegation to the annual meeting of Eurocities, Europe's largest network of cities, in Espoo this June.
