Tallinn intends to create a protected area in Haabersti

The Tallinn City Government is preparing to initiate the establishment of the Astangu-Mäeküla protected area in the Haabersti district. A public presentation of the concept of the conservation area will be held on Tuesday 10 May at 17.30 at the Astangu Vocational Rehabilitation Centre at Astangu 27, where residents are invited to participate and express their ideas.

Birgitta Festival builds a musical bridge between Estonia and Finland

The organisers of the Birgitta Festival presented the highlights of the festival, which will take place from 6 to 14 August. Mozart's opera "Don Giovanni" and Sibelius's music for the play "Tempest" will be staged in the ruins of Pirita Convent, Finnish productions of "Black Monk" and "Uniko", and a new work, the opera "Lalli", begun by Veljo Tormis and completed by Rasmus Puur.

Tallinn extends rent exemption on outdoor terraces

The Tallinn City Government has decided to continue the full rent exemption for outdoor terraces in the city until the end of May this year, with a 50 per cent rental discount from the beginning of June until the end of August. Full rent exemption will again be applied from the beginning of September until the end of December this year.
