Pronksi Street reconstruction works continue in Tallinn City Centre; however, starting today, the Pronksi–Raua and Pronksi–Gonsiori intersections are open to traffic.
Due to ongoing roadworks in Tallinn City Centre, residents are advised to use public transport and plan extra time for their journeys. The challenging traffic conditions are partially alleviated in the autumn by the gradual restoration of tram lines and the reopening of several intersections for cars.
The nominees for Tallinn Entrepreneurship Awards have been selected. A total of 70 candidates were submitted in seven main categories, from which the winners will be announced on September 27th. The categories include the Best Development Project, Collaboration Project, Bright Newcomer, Tourism Achievement, Job Creator, Solution of the Future, and Eco-Innovation. Additionally, awards will be given for the best applied research projects.
The renovation of Jõe and Pronksi streets is coming to a close, and the streets will be open to traffic on Friday, October 20. The traffic situation will also be improved with the simultaneous opening of the Narva mnt–Jõe–Pronksi and Narva mnt–Laikmaa–Hobujaama intersections. The street opening will bring several changes to the bus routes passing through the city center.
The renovated Miiamilla Children's Museum was opened on January 11 by the Estonian President Alar Karis, Sirje Karis, Mayor of Tallinn Mihhail Kõlvart, and children who contributed to the museum’s completion. The construction of the Old City Harbour tramway along Põhja puiestee near Linnahall is set to disrupt tram services to Kopli from May 3 until mid-August. During the first weekend of May, tram lines No. 1, 2, and 5 will be out of service. From May 6, a temporary tram line No. 1 will operate between Kopli and Linnahall stops.
The Tallinn City Government approved today the partial or complete closure of some streets in the Kesklinn and Pirita districts during the LHV Maijooks (LHV May Run) on May 18. The race organizer has also been exempted from street closure fees and the costs associated with rerouting public transport lines.
