UNESCO City of Music Tallinn will commemorate Estonia’s Restoration of Independence Day with a traditional concert at Harjumägi’s 20th of August Square. Several roadworks in the city are nearing completion, bringing some relief to traffic and allowing certain bus lines that were previously diverted to return to their usual routes. However, ongoing projects in Tallinn will continue to affect traffic in the coming weeks.
On Friday, August 30, the Kultuuriöö (Culture Night) event, "Ääretud silmapiirid (Boundless horizons)," will transform Tallinn's urban space into a vibrant center of cultural activities. In the evening, a special concert will take place at the Viru Keskus bus terminal, and passengers on night buses departing from the Balti Jaam station will be treated to literary readings.
From August 29 to September 1, Tallinn will host another vibrant Linnaruumifestival (Urban Space Festival), offering activities and discussions for everyone. In keeping with the city’s maritime heritage, this year's festival will focus on the seaside, with most of the program taking place around the Linnahall area.
The City of Tallinn is planning to design a summer street on Aia Street in the Old Town in 2025, and a survey was conducted among residents this summer to gather input on the spatial design. Now in its eighth year, the festival highlights cultural forms from the periphery and brings to the stage young and lesser-known cultural creators. The event will feature music, art, film, performances, exhibitions, movement, discussions, and various workshops.
