PHOTOS: European Capital of Sport combat sports day showcased martial arts

As part of the Tallinn – European Capital of Sport 2025 program, a combat sports day took place on Saturday, February 22.

The event introduced various martial arts, including wrestling, fencing, karate, judo, and taekwondo.

In addition to hands-on training sessions, participants had the chance to watch an épée demonstration match between Irina Embrich and American fencer Catherine Nixon, a performance by visually impaired karateka Karl-Aleksander Vase, and a kendo showcase featuring traditional Japanese sword fighting.

The next event in the European Capital of Sport main programme is set for March 22 at Tondiraba Ice Hall, offering a chance to explore different ice sports.
