Olympic Day Invites: Come and Try Different Sports
On Wednesday, 27 August, Mustamäe Männi Park will transform into a real Olympic village, where everyone can find an activity they enjoy. Starting at 16:00, you can try 20 different sports and activities – from classic athletics and basketball to parkour, curling, and yard games. And it’s all completely free!
The celebration lasts until the evening – in addition to sports, visitors can meet European figure skating champion Niina Petrõkina at the Estonian Olympic Committee tent for photos and autographs. The day will close at 19:00 with a concert by the always radiant Tanja.
Olympic Day is designed for movers of all ages – the youngest family members can take part in the Kids’ Run at 18:00, while older participants can refine their Nordic walking technique.
On the basketball and football fields, the Physical Activity Competence Centre brings back nostalgic yard games from childhood, such as “Five Minus” and other fun challenges. Parkour enthusiasts will find both workshops and mini-competitions full of adrenaline and skill. The Nõmme Cycling Club sets up an exciting track, which you can ride with your own bike or borrow one on site.
The sports selection also includes volleyball, hockey, and badminton, while the Athletics Association brings a specially designed playful athletics programme for children. The audience will surely be amazed by the spectacular taekwondo demonstrations. And if you think curling can only be played on ice, you’re in for a surprise – at Olympic Day you can try curling in a whole new way, a sport in which Estonia has high hopes for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina.
