The Freedom Square Sports Grounds are Open to Everyone

On the top-class beach volleyball and basketball courts set up at Tallinn’s Freedom Square, sports enthusiasts can enjoy activities until 22 August.

The top-class courts built for the 57th International Children’s Games will host a number of events over the next two weeks, but during non-competition times the grounds will remain available for city residents. At Freedom Square, there are two beach volleyball courts and three 3x3 basketball courts. Ball boxes are also available, operating on the principle: take, play, and return.

As part of the Sports Capital ball games weeks, spectators at Freedom Square can cheer on local top athletes when the Estonian Beach Volleyball Championships take place on 14–17 August and the Estonian 3x3 Basketball Championships on 16–17 August.

International competitions include the Nordic Basketball Championships for the Deaf on 8–10 August. On 13 August, the Estonian Paralympic Committee will organise a beach sitting volleyball tournament. On 15 August, the Tallinn Wheelchair Basketball Championships will be held.
