Ten spring moments in Tallinn

On Sunday 20 April, the European Capital of Sport, Tallinn, will take you in search of ten spring moments in Tallinn. There are four different trails to help you explore the capital from exciting angles. Why not choose a hike in a neighbouring district that you might not be familiar with?

The hikes are free of charge, but pre-registration is required, which will be opened on 31 March in the Tallinn e-shop.

The hikes start from four different parts of Tallinn with all of them culminating at the Seaplane Harbour, where the hiking groups will arrive at approximately 15:00. You can find the exact location of the finish line here.

Please arrive at the starting area about 15-20 minutes before the start, so we can get to the track on time!

If you're coming on the hike with a well-behaved pet, make sure it's on a lead for the entire hike. Please note! Pets are not allowed for the hiking group starting at Rocca Al Mare and passing through the Tallinn Zoo.

Where will the hiking trails take you?
Nõmme – Seaplane Harbour. The 15 km hiking trail starts in Nõmme and goes through Kristiine, Haabersti and Northern Tallinn to the end point at the Seaplane Harbour. The hiking group will start at 10:30 from Nõmme ski bridge. You can find the exact starting point here. The hiking group will complete the trail in about 4.5 hours.

Telliskivi – Seaplane Harbour. Suitable for families with children and older hikers, the 6.5 km trail passes through the Northern Tallinn and City Centre districts. The hiking group will start at 11:00 in front of Fotografiska. You can find the exact starting point here. During the trip, we will discover the latest construction projects in Tallinn’s City Centre, enjoy the views from Towers’ Square and have a peek at how winter has passed for the Admiral. The hiking group will complete the trail in about 2 hours.

Rocca Al Mare – Seaplane Harbour. Starting from the parking lot of the Estonian Open Air Museum, the 13 km hiking trail goes through the Haabersti and Northern Tallinn districts. The hiking group will start at 11:00. You can find the exact starting point here. During the trip we will get to know the newest inhabitants of Tallinn Zoo and their habitats, peek into different parks in Tallinn, discover the Volta and Noblessner areas and hear about the impact of seawater on reducing heating costs in Tallinn! The hiking group will complete the trail in about 4 hours.

Viimsi – Seaplane Harbour. Sunday's longest 19 km course starts in Viimsi and goes through the districts of Pirita, Lasnamäe and the City Centre. The hiking group will start at 10:00. You can find the exact starting point here. Along the way, we will learn where submarines were built, how long the Olympic flame burned, and where the most iconic picture of Tallinn was taken, by which we can recognise all of Tallinn's landmarks by heart. And at the end of the tour, we'll take a look at the whole route while standing at the top of the Cruise Promenade! The hiking group will complete the trail in about 5 hours.
Which path should you choose?
Come hiking with your family, work colleagues or friends and choose a hike of a length that suits you! The average pace on the track is between 4 and 4.5 km per hour, and each track has a number of nice rest stops.
What happens at the finish?
Upon reaching the finish area at the Seaplane Harbour, chilled drinks will be waiting for everyone and a delicious soup will be served to all participants so that no one goes home hungry!
How to reach the hike
The best way to get to the hike is to use Tallinn public transport or walk to the starting point.

If you're coming by car, come with your family, friends or work colleagues – find some good travelling companions for both the ride over as well as the hike itself. You can park your car in the car parks nearby – don't forget to follow the parking rules!
